Over this past week I had a few new observations about my pregnancy. The hormones combined with the prenatals have been making my nails grow like crazy and I have also noticed that they are much harder to break than before. The other thing that I've noticed, which I love, is the fact that I can count my facial blemishes on all of 2 fingers for the past 12 weeks. I almost never break out anymore. It's a wonderful thing!
Great news: my toothbrush-induced vomiting is now a thing of the past. I only had one morning this past week that I felt a little queasy. (I think it was due to some questionable IHOP food late the night before and had nothing to do with being pregnant...). It feels good to love my toothbrush again!
The last thing that was really brought to my attention this week is that people seem to think everything is their business when you're pregnant. Now, don't get me wrong, I love it when people ask how I've been feeling, when people tell me they have been praying for me, when our Pastor prays for our growing baby in church, etc. I also love when people say wonderful things like:
- "You look great!"
- "You don't look tired at all."
- "You don't look like you're 12 weeks pregnant. You don't look like you've gained an ounce."
Now, the people that make me get on the scale more often than need be, the people that make me stand in front of the mirror, staring at myself to see if I look huge, for 5 minutes every morning (also something I never do...), the people that make me want to wear maternity clothes now even though I don't need to, these are the people who say things like this to me:
- "Do you feel like you've put on weight?"
- "You're looking thicker"
- "You definitely have a bulge"
Bulge?? People have strong imaginations, apparently. You look great!! And trust me, you'll continue to look great all the way through the pregnancy. :)
ReplyDeleteDear friend! What an amazing journey you and Sam are on! After reading the parts about weight gain, it reminded me how I felt totally the same way! I started gaining weight right off the bat for a total of 45lbs. I remember feeling awful that I was ten over what you are supposed to gain. But somehow all that weight really does come back off! They say it takes 6 months for the weight to come off...it took me a full year! Anyway pregnancy is beautiful! And every pregnancy is different! And u truly honestly look great and healthy and I see no bulge!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! LeAnne Jackson
