38 Weeks!

Sweet Baby Chloe,

I've really fallen down on the job with these blog posts. I haven't posted since June. Yikes! We were in Tahoe on the 28th of July and I just spaced blogging at the end of August what with the start of a new school year and all. Miss a couple months of posts and suddenly you're almost here!

Things have been going so well! Everything has been healthy for you and me and I've been able to experience a much more "normal" pregnancy this time around. Your Daddy and I could not possibly be more thankful! The worst mishap has been the kidney stones that the doctor discovered. That whole incident was a fiasco! It took 3 different hospitals and 19 hours (without pain medication, mind you) for someone to figure out I had kidney stones. Thankfully, I haven't had any pain or trouble since August 12 - the dreadful day we discovered all this. However, it isn't over. I can't receive the diagnostic testing or the treatment I need until you come. So, we'll be dealing with all of that next month. Daddy asked me why I can't just be completely normal during my pregnancies - preeclampsia and surgery to remove my gall bladder with Noah and kidney stones with you. I told him I'm doing the best I can and that he should just be thankful he isn't the one who's had to physically endure all this.

Mommy, Daddy, Noah, Nana, Papa, Auntie Kristi, Auntie Kendra, and Uncle Nathan all worked hard on your nursery this past weekend. It is all painted and the decorations are all hung up except for one that Auntie Kristi bought you as a shower gift which we'll get at your baby shower on Sunday. I haven't taken any pictures yet though because we still have to break down the guest bed that's in there, move in your rocking chair, and help Noah transition to his big boy bed so you can have the crib. I don't want to overwhelm him with too much change all at once so we're letting him keep the crib until you're sleeping through the night (or at least for a couple more months. Hopefully you're sleeping through the night at 8 weeks like your brother did). Maybe next time I post I'll have pictures of everything completed except for the crib.

I'm really hoping you don't come too late. Dr. Kaiser says that as long as everything continues to look healthy he will just let you come on your own (yay!), but that he won't induce even if you come late until 1 week past my due date. I cannot imagine being 41 weeks pregnant. I don't want to be 41 weeks pregnant. 40 is good enough for me. So, if you would kindly come anywhere between September 20-25, that would be wonderful :)

Noah has been telling Daddy and I all the things that he's going to teach you. He wants to teach you to play cars, to learn all your letters, numbers, and colors, and to show you all the toys and pets at Grandma's house and Nana and Papa's house. He informed Daddy today that they 2 of you are going to be best buds! :)

We cannot wait to meet you and are so excited that God has blessed our family with your precious little life! Only 2 more weeks and we get to bring you home!
