For quite some time now, I've been collecting a list of Noah-isms with the intention of adding them to my blog. I wanted to be sure to document some of the wonderful things you say before I forget them. I'm sure there are some I've already forgot to put on my list and that there will be many more I can add in the future, but, for now, here's what I've got:
Lasterday - Yesterday
Pizzaroni - Pepperoni
Get for - Forget
Window Shadow - Car Window
Check Out This - Check This Out
Shushie - Slushy
Froop Loops - Fruit Loops
Burgers Bob's - Bob's Burgers
Doctor Vader - Darth Vader
Star Wers - Star Wars
Queen Frostine - Princess Leia
Porcupines - Pine Cones
Headbands - Band-aids
Tella - Nutella
Ballyball - Volleyball
Those are just some of the short words and phrases that you use regularly, but have put your own, cute little spin on. I also have a couple more anecdotal examples of your funny little conversations.
School
One day Daddy was taking you to school and when he opened the garage door you walked out on to the driveway, put your hands on your hips, and said, "Well, isn't it just a gorgeous day for school!" Daddy said the weather couldn't have looked more bleak nor the sky a worse shade of gray, but you sure brought some sunshine into his life that morning! :)
Verse
You have memory verses for school. We were recently practicing the verse, "Jesus said, 'Feed my lambs.'" I couldn't recall the exact reference, so when you finished saying that part I asked you if you remembered where it was found. You replied, "Um, I don't know. Probably in a bush."
Clock
We've basically given up all hope as far as nap time is concerned. However, you do have one hour of quiet time every day. Thankfully, you enjoy it (for the most part), for now. A couple weeks ago you were having quiet time and had decided that you'd been in your room too long. You went and found Daddy to ask if you could be done. Daddy said, "No," and took you back to your room. While in there, Daddy took the clock off your wall and showed you that, when the big hand pointed to the 6 (15 minutes or so from that time), you could come downstairs. Daddy propped your clock up against the closet door. You laid down, put your face in your hands, and just stared at the clock. You were very excited because you could see the second hand moving. About 10 minutes later, you came out of your room again and told Daddy, "That hand was just moving too slow. So, I found a little spinny thing on the back and turned it myself until the big hand was pointing at the 6. So, can I come out now?" Daddy just threw his hands in the air, laughed, and said, "You win!"
I'm going to work hard at writing things down right when you say them because you say funny things every single day, but I don't always remember them! You are so quick-witted, kind of like your Daddy and your Uncles. You're just the smartest little thing and it is really hard to get anything past you. Not only so, but you're also the sweetest little boy with a very tender heart. You truly care for others and work hard to tell Daddy, Chloe, and me how much you love us on a daily basis. Our lives certainly wouldn't be the same without you! You're such a blessing to us. Your handsome, little smile easily lights up a room and it's just a refreshing joy to have your sweet face around! Never forget how much we love you and how much Jesus loves you! Keep being funny, Noah T.!
