4 Months!

Sweet Noah Boy,

We have reached the end of summer and that means you are another month older. Four months! Wow! It really seems like yesterday that I was on bed rest in the hospital.

Your Daddy took you to the doctor this morning. You had 3 more vaccinations. He said you were a very good, brave boy again. You weigh 13 lbs. 4 oz. and are 25 in. long. Your head is in the 80th percentile, your height in the 25th percentile, and your weight in the 10th percentile. You've gotten so much bigger and even chubbier, but I guess you're still a little guy :)

Some of your new favorite things include standing and "flying." Daddy loves to make you "fly" through the air. It seems to make you pretty happy. You have also started to react to tickling. Daddy even got you out right giggling the other day. It was so adorable! Your laugh is so tiny and cute.

A few other things you still love and/or have learned to love recently are tubbies, spending time outside, playing with your toys, reading books, eating your fists, trying to grab your toes, pulling Mommy's hair, and kick, kick, kicking your feet.

Here's a video that gives a very slight peek into your active state:

You talk A LOT now. Your little voice is very quiet. Sometimes, when Daddy and I are talking to each other you look back and forth between us and chime in every once in awhile.

You have been sleeping through the night for several weeks now, maybe even a couple of months. You were in a great habit of sleeping for 8ish hours and then eating and going back to sleep for another 1.5-2.5 hours. However, your sleep schedule got shaken up a bit when Mommy went back to work. Now, you are sleeping for about 6  hours, waking up to eat, and then sleeping for another 3ish. Hopefully, you will get adjusted soon and you can go back to your 8 hours.

Mommy did go back to work this month. I got a new job that is perfect for us! I am teaching Kindergarten at a new school. I am only gone from about 7:30-11:30 every day. This has been a huge blessing for many reasons: 1) Daddy is at home so you don't have to go to daycare, 2) you sleep for the vast majority of the time I am gone so Daddy is able to work and then feed you a bottle when you wake up and take his lunch break until I get home, 3) We have not had to put you on formula, 4) Mommy gets to teach AND be home with you.

I knew when I had you that I did not want to give up teaching, but that it would be difficult to say goodbye to you everyday. Some people probably don't understand this, but my personality is not really the "stay-at-home" type. I love my job and I can't imagine not teaching. I would have had a difficult time giving it up. Yet, I want to be with you too. So, teaching half days has been the perfect answer to being a Mommy to my little boy, whom I love dearly, and getting to continue my career.

Mommy and Daddy love the happy-go-lucky, laid back kid that you are. You are such a blessing to our little family. We love living life with you and are excited for the month that lies ahead of us!
