3 Months!

Dear Baby Noah,

Another month has zoomed right by! You look so different and are doing so many new things in just a month's time. It is crazy how fast your growing!

We didn't go to the doctor this month. Your next appointment is one month from today, at which you will get your next round of shots :( I'm not sure how long you are or what you weigh right now, but my guess is 12-13 pounds and 23-24" long.

As per usual with our family, this was another busy month. You celebrated your first 4th of July, went on your first vacation, and took your first trip to the zoo. One other first we experienced in the last 30 days was moving you from Mommy and Daddy's room to your room at night.

For 4th of July this year we went to Emmett and spent the day with the Gibson side of the family. You stayed at the house with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa while the rest of the family floated the Payette River. That afternoon we had a BBQ and homemade ice cream. We also had some yummy cake to celebrate Great Grandma and Aunt Beck's birthdays. We went into town and sat on the church lawn later that evening to watch the city fireworks.

We took a family vacation to SunRiver earlier this month. That is one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite vacation places. We went with all of Mommy's family and Uncle Terry and Aunt Kathy also joined us. Nathan came for one night and Anne, Karli, and Emmy also came for a couple of nights. We had a blast! We  biked all over the place, went putt-putt golfing a couple times, (once was even glow-in-the-dark), rented a boat and spent the day on Paulina Lake, played games, hot-tubed, went shopping in the village, played volleyball, whiffle ball, and tennis, and spent every afternoon at the pool. You were a super good traveller and vacationer. You slept a whole lot and enjoyed morning walks with Grandpa. You liked the pool and your bike trailer. You did a great job of keeping everyone entertained. It was so fun to have you on vacation with us!

This past week we went to the zoo. The Acton's were here visiting so we went with Lynne, Hannah, Kenny, Grandma Larson, and Uncle Aaron. You basically slept the entire time, but it was still fun. We loved watching Kenny and his reaction to all the playground equipment and the animals. I know you'll be his age, (almost 3), and enjoying all the animals soon enough.

Moving you into your own room has been extremely hard on Mommy. Way harder than I ever thought possible. We had you in our room for so long because your nursery wasn't ready when we came home from the hospital. I didn't want to have you sleeping in there on the days that I worked on painting so we kept you in our room. By the time I finished all the painting you were 10 weeks old and we were getting ready to leave on vacation. While we were gone you also slept in our room. So, your very first night in your nursery was when you were 11 weeks old. The first night was the hardest for me. It has gotten much easier since, but sometimes I still miss having you really close by.

Amongst other news, you are an incredibly happy, smiley boy much of the time now. You always wake up happy and love to smile and giggle and kick, kick, kick your feet. You have started reacting to my voice and Daddy's voice and funny faces or sounds people make at you. You also like to be tickled.

Using your little hands and fingers to grab onto your toys, my hair, or peoples' clothes is something you're starting to catch the hang of. You like to clench things as tight as possible and once you've got your grasp on something it is very difficult to talk you into letting go.

You're getting really good at making eye contact and following me and Daddy, with your eyes, when we walk around the room. You jibber jabber a whole lot, especially when you're laying on your changing table and looking at your gear mural. Those bright colors and shapes make you go crazy! You kick your legs super fast and talk and squeal and smile and giggle when you see them. You also cry when we take you away from the changing table. I'm glad you like the mural so much since I spent quite a bit of time working on it.

I'd say that one of your biggest accomplishments for this month is rolling over all by yourself. We were at Grandma Larson's and you were laying on the couch. Daddy and I were sitting on either side of you and we were watching tv. We looked down and you had got yourself from your back to your tummy. The cushion was at a slight incline because we were sitting there, but you were able to figure out how to cross your leg over your body to roll over. You couldn't quite get your arm out from under you, but I'm sure you'll be doing that soon.
Our love for you continues to grow each day. In fact, you're making my heart melt as I'm writing this. You're laying on the couch beside me, kicking me with those adorable, little feet, and smiling and cooing like crazy. We can no longer imagine our life before you and daily thank God for our little family of 3!
