7 months!

Noah Baby,

Sometimes, as an adult, you forget about many of the wonders of childhood and all the sweet memories that are paired with them. This past month was a good reminder of some childhood greats!

We celebrated your first Halloween. We dressed you up as a little monkey and took you to see Aunt Kathy and Uncle Terry and Great Grandma Little and Grandpa and Grandma Larson and Grandpa and Grandma Little. You were a very good little monkey! You were so adorable and you really humored us. You didn't get fed up with your costume until our last stop. By that time, you were sleepy and hungry and ready to be done.

You also got to experience your first Thanksgiving this month. No turkey yet, but you did get some sweet potatoes which you gobbled right down. You were very good-natured through all the festivities. Next year, you should really enjoy this holiday with all the trimmings!

Sunday, we spent the day with Mommy's family putting Christmas lights up at Grandma and Grandpa's and at our house. You love to stare at all the bright colors. Christmas lights are one of Mommy's most favorite things and I cannot wait until you get just as excited as I do about putting them up.

Mommy had surgery a few weeks ago. Apparently, my body and pregnancy did not get along as well as I would have liked. Not only did I have the preeclampsia, but I had to have my gallbladder removed as a result of my pregnancy. Thankfully, it was an outpatient surgery with a super easy recovery and very minimal pain. I was back to myself and doing all the things I like to do with you, in under a week. (Daddy took very good care of both of us during my recovery. He should get awarded "Nurse of the Year," or something)!

At the end of last month, you had your 6 month check-up. You were given 6 more vaccinations and a flu shot. You weighed in at 15 lb. 13.5 oz. You were 25.5 inches long and your head measured 17.5" in circumference. The doctor says you're right on target and look great! You're still in the lower percentiles for weight and height, but that is only attributed to being born at 37 weeks. Daddy and I are so grateful to God for a happy, healthy baby.

Mommy went back to work on Monday after having a week off. I love when I get time off to spend with you. I get 3 weeks at Christmas and I am ecstatic to have all the time to spend with you! I miss you tons for the 4ish hours I am gone every morning.

I think I omitted from my last post that we got your 6 month pictures taken in October. I have bunches of them hanging up and we've been sharing them with lots of family. They turned out really good and they are a keepsake I'll always love having.

Your first tooth is finally poking through. It is on the top, just left of center. You have hardly fussed at all for teething. I am glad something is finally breaking through and I just hope it doesn't decide to recede back up into the gum.

Recently, you figured out how to get yourself up on your knees. The ability to get yourself into a crawling position is slowly, but surely developing. I both dread and look forward to the day when you figure out how to take off.

The last bit of news I'll share is a list of some of your favorites; things we'll want to remember about you forever:

  • Favorite toy: big bouncy seat with toys, lights, music, mirror
  • Favorite sound to make: baby velociraptor
  • Favorite sleeping position: tummy
  • Favorite food: milk, but you also like peas, beans, bananas, sweet potatoes, and applesauce
  • Favorite position to be held in: standing up on someone's lap, facing outward
