Noah's Dedication (6 months!)

Sweet Baby Noah,

Today is a very special day. Not only does this day mark your 6 months of existence, but it also held any incredibly special event: your dedication.

This morning, at church, Daddy and I had you dedicated. We offered you up to the Lord, making a public statement that we will do our very best to raise you in a way that is pleasing in His sight. We promised to guide you and direct you in His ways and to teach you to love Him and follow Him at a young age. We promised to be godly examples for your little life.

As we were dedicating you I could not help but think of Hannah's story. I want to take, so seriously, your dedication, as she took her promise to give her son back to the Lord should He choose to bless her with one. I know you are already the Lord's. I know He loves you far more than either I or your Daddy can imagine. I find great comfort in this.

I am not a perfect parent and I will never claim to be anything of the sort, but I want you to know that I, (and your Daddy), do promise to raise you the best way I know how. I can't think of any better way than giving you to God. He has already begun a good work in you and I know He will be faithful to complete it.

I love you, little buddy and Jesus does too!

"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"                                                              -Matthew 19:14

We were so blessed to have some of our family join us for this joyous occasion! We had 4 generations there, from both sides!

PS- On a less serious note, you have become the master of rolling over, both ways. You once despised tummy time, but you now like it. I'm sure crawling isn't too far off. You are also working hard to cut some teeth, but we haven't seen any surface yet. You can now sit in a shopping cart all by yourself, which means Mommy doesn't have to lug your car seat around or always take her Moby while shopping anymore! Yay! You are a most precious little boy and your Daddy and I are mesmerized by your every new ability.
