Two more months and we will be celebrating your 1st birthday! It was one year ago tomorrow that Mommy got put on bed rest. Now, that sort of seems like it was in a different life. It is amazing what time can heal :)
You have been a very busy little boy this past month. We went to the doctor right after your turned 9 months. You weighed 17 lb. 3.5 oz, your head measured 18 1/8 inches, and you were 26 5/8 inches tall. That put you in the 11th, 85th, and 2nd percentiles, respectively. You didn't have to get any shots at that visit, which pleased Mommy to no end. Our next visit is scheduled for April 30th, 2 days after your birthday.
You still aren't crawling, but you can hold yourself up on your hands and knees now. When you want to get somewhere you would rather army crawl than try to get off your belly. You do like to try and pull yourself up to stand, using the couch or whatever you can get your hands on. You also like trying to take a few steps when someone is hanging onto your hands. However, your steps usually turn into hopping....you do LOVE to bounce/jump!
Tooth number 5 and tooth number 6 are making themselves known. One of them has broken through the gums, just a scorch, and the other is super close. They are both up top, one on each side of the 2 you already have. Again, you haven't been too fussy, but you're drooling and chewing on your thumbs like no body's business.
Our family headed out for a short vacation this month. Mommy had a week off work so we went to Portland for a couple days and visited Salem while we were there. We went to Zoey Jane's birthday party, to dinner with several friends, and got to spend a bit of time with Mommy's best friends from college. Then, we headed to Seattle to see the rest of the Vanderwalls.
Auntie Morgan, Noah, and Auntie Erin at the Gum Wall at Pike's Place
Mommy and Noah at the Woodland Park Zoo
Daddy's invention to keep your head from falling forward while you were sleeping on our long drive
Mommy and Noah at the elephant exhibit, (none of the animals wanted a close-up that day :/)
While we were in Seattle, we went to the zoo and Pike's Place. It was a short visit this time, but we had a lot of fun and you got to bond with some of your family that you don't often get the chance to see. Grandpa Vanderwall gave you another autographed Seahawk's football, this time sporting Golden Tate's John Hancock, and a Seahawk's helmet, authographed by Walter Jones. We also got 2 Seattle Sounders scarves. You're a pretty spoiled little boy ;) Daddy and Grandpa are already working hard to turn you into Hawk fans...though your other Grandpa might have something to say about that...
All 3 of us wound up with the flu by the end of our vacation. We were pretty miserable. Luckily, it only lasted for about a day and Grandma Larson took mercy on us and came to help! Thank goodness!
A few of your current favorites are: 1) tubby time. You love to splash, splash, splash and play with all your fun toys, 2) CARROTS!, 3) your Animal Sounds book, given to you by Leslie Honcoop. You think this book is great and love to try to mimic the sounds that Daddy or I make when we read it to you, 4) your wooden block set that was handmade for you by someone from Grandma and Grandpa Larson's church, and 5) you still love your bouncy seat. You are the hoppin-est baby I've ever seen!
When you hit 11 months we will be on vacation again, but I'll keep track of some fun things over the next month and post when we get home in April.
Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back!
