Happy 16 months! The end of August kind of sneaked up on me and I almost forgot to post. Time flies when you're busy starting a new school year as both a teacher and a student...
You are so full of life these days! I swear you are never still. I'm not sure how your body ever reaches a state of sleep. You are your own little person, always on the go, incredibly self-sufficient and full of energy!
When I try to think about the events that have taken place over the last month my mind seems to glaze over in a state of exhaustion and slight confusion. I'll do my best to make some sense of my fuzzy thoughts and get some good memories down on paper.
At the end of July we celebrated Grandma Larson's birthday. You, Daddy, and I took her out for brunch and had a wonderful morning together. We went to The Griddle and enjoyed some fabulous food and the wonderful company of each other. We gave Grandma a SnapFish book filled with photos. Of course, she was only slight delighted ;)

At the beginning of August, Mommy flew to Portland for 3 days. I was in Anne's wedding and was really excited to see my friends, but I did not realize just how difficult it was going to be to leave you over night, (2 nights), for the first time. Don't get me wrong, I knew it was going to be a challenge, but I didn't see myself blubbering like an idiot in the Boise airport. I'm not really the crying type, but leaving my sweet baby boy for 3 days was almost more than I could bear. I was so happy to get home to you and Daddy after my trip!
Mommy had about a 10 day break from classes in mid-August. This gave the 3 of us a chance to spend some quality time together before my next classes started and I went back to work. It was much needed! We did things like feed the ducks, take walks, go out to eat, spend time in downtown Boise, and just hang around the house being really lazy. It felt so good!

Mommy's first day back at work was the 13th. You have done great adjusting back to our school year schedule. Daddy and I continue to feel so blessed that we both get to spend one-on-one time with you each day and that we have the perfect jobs for us! We couldn't picture our lives any other way.
Last week you received your first hair cut. We took you to the barber shop to see Justin Seward. His mom gave Mommy her first hair cut so we thought it was only fitting, not to mention a little nostalgic. You look so handsome with your big boy cut, but Mommy misses your curls and your baby look. I did cry a little inside for the first couple days after your cut. I'm pretty sure your curls will make a resurgence though...you've still got lots of wave.

Other high-lights from the past month:
- You now have 12 teeth, (and maybe more on the way???)
- I've said you were really chatty multiple times before, but I think you've reached a new level of chattiness
- You can clearly say "No" and you aren't afraid to do so
- "Noah" has also become part of your vocabulary, though I'm uncertain whether or not you realize what you're saying
- You've grown into the world's finicky-est eater. UGH!! The doctor says you still need to be gaining weight, (you're basically falling off the bottom of the percentile charts), and getting you to eat is often like pulling teeth. One day you'll eat pretty well and Daddy and I will think we know your favorites and the next day you won't even touch the foods you were devouring previously. We are thankful for one constant like of yours: cheesy scrambled eggs.
- You can climb the stairs, up and down, by yourself. We don't make a habit of this though. If we did, Mommy and Daddy would never get anything done!
- Taking walks is one of your favorite past times
- Daddy and I can both now recite Muddy Truck from memory, cover to cover. I don't think either of us are as excited about this as you.
- Tubby time is still a hit
- You went through a little separation anxiety phase and did not want to go in the nursery at church. Most Sundays, this is kind of inescapable because of Daddy and I volunteering with the older kids. Thankfully, in the last month-ish we seem to have overcome this little bump in the road.
- "Bye-bye" is like music to your ears. You love to get in the car and go!
- It is a good thing God had the foresight to create a whole lot of cows in this world because you drink whole milk like it is going out of style, (1-2 gallons per week).
- All animals apparently say the same thing. They all sound like Llamas. That is, they just spit.
- If anyone says "big bootie" you instantly start shaking yours
- Auntie Kendra taught you how to "sniff your pits" (don't worry, Mommy has already planned revenge for her future nieces and nephews)
- Communicating via sign language is like drinking milk for you; so easy!
- You can now find your eyes, belly, nose, and mouth. We've tried learning other parts, but as soon as we say "eyes" that is the only thing you'll point to. I guess you get a little high from poking yourself in the eye or something
