The Vanderwalls: Noah

Dear Noah,
I can't believe how grown up you are becoming! You are such a big help to me! I love you more than you'll ever know!

Lately, you've turned into quite the little jokester. You have 4 jokes that you run through several times a day. Your jokes are a little unique in that there is no lead-up story, there's a punch line and that's it. 2 of your jokes are from B.J. Novak's book, The Book With No Pictures. You just say your 2 favorite lines from the book and expect everyone within earshot to burst out in uproarious laughter. Those 2 lines are: boo-boo butt, and ba-doingy face. One of your other punch lines is simply to say "Fee-fi-fo-fum!" Not exactly sure why that's so hilarious, but I guess it strikes a chord with you. The last joke is a little more involved and it does have a lead-up story, but you never offer up that information so Daddy and I usually do as if we're your little assistants or something. You call your nipples your nickels. There is a man that goes to our church named Fred Nichols. In your mind, his name is actually Fred Nipples, which, admittedly, is hilarious! So, if you want to get a good reaction out of people you'll just suddenly, loudly proclaim, "Fred Nichols!" and laugh as heartily as you're able.

You are totally into dinosaurs these days. You are basically a walking encyclopedia as far as dinosaurs are concerned. You play with them, read about them, and recite your dinosaur knowledge multiple times daily. I'm pretty impressed with all the big words you remember.

You are always picking up new little catch phrases that you just insert into your daily conversation. Most of the time, we don't have a clue where you get these things from. Your newest catch phrase is "dontcha?" For instance, you'll be talking about something, anything really, let's use strawberries for an example, and you'll say, to whomever your conversing with, "You like strawberries, dontcha?" I suppose it's something we've said to you before. Who knows...

You are so sweet to Chloe! You adore her with all your heart and are always willing to help out with her, play with her, talk to her, I think once she's walking you two will be basically inseparable. I'm sure there will be times you fight and have disagreements, but up to this point, you've never once been mean to her and I hope that lasts forever!

Speaking of Chloe, she's thinking she needs to be fed. So, I'm going to sign off for now. Mommy and Daddy love you more than anything in the entire world! Keep being you're amazing, hilarious little self!
