The Vanderwalls: Noah is 2!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Mommy still has this habit of calling you Noah Baby...I realize you're no longer a baby since you turned 2 today!!!!! But, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be :)

We had your birthday party on Saturday. The theme was none other than Curious George. I mean, what else, of course?!?! We had 19 guests in attendance. We played "pin the banana on George," and "Curious George bingo." We did a banana split bar (George - monkey - banana - duh), complete with vanilla ice cream, bananas, strawberries, blackberries, almonds, walnuts, m&m's, gummy bears, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, and whipped cream. You had a funfetti Curious George cake, and we had homemade lemonade and fruit punch mixed with 7up for drinks. Mommy had tons of fun making all your decorations and prepping all the food. I did have lots of help from your Aunties, Daddy, and Uncle Nathan.

You made out like a bandit as far as gifts are concerned. You got 3 baseball bats, 2 t-ball stands, several plastic baseballs and/or whiffle balls, some clothes, a couple of baseball caps, a minion coloring book (you love minions almost as much as you love George), new tubby crayons, some tubby toys, a minion lunch box, minion fruit snacks, some books, 2 movies, a fancy wading pool for summer, sidewalk chalk, a bubble gun, and a trike. I may be forgetting something, I'm not sure. I am sure you are a little spoiled ;)

Since today is your actual birthday we've been doing some more celebrating. When you woke up Daddy took you to Albertson's and let you pick out a donut for breakfast. He also made you eggs, which you love. You did puzzles with Daddy after breakfast until Mommy got home. Then, Mommy made you noodles for lunch, which you also love, and we watched The Veggie Tales Top 10 Silly Songs. Then, we read some stories before nap. After your nap we are going to test out your bubble gun and sidewalk chalk and maybe take a walk. Tonight all of our family is going to meet us at the park and have a McDonald's picnic (you love their cheeseburgers and fries) and then we will let you play on the play structures and we'll pack along some of your fun new "outside" birthday toys. Mommy gets into birthdays just a little :) We have to be sure that today is filled with all of your favorite things. I think this list will just about cover it, as long as we end the day with a tubby and more stories, of course!

I have 60-75 birthday pictures from the last few days so I won't put all of them on here, but I'll post a smattering of the birthday goings on.

Happy 2nd birthday, sweet boy! Mommy and Daddy love you more than we can express. We are so blessed to have you in our family and can't wait to celebrate all the years to come!
